Your WordPress site, rebuilt with Astro. Your rankings, kept.
Astro4B is a web agency specialised in Astro. We handle your WordPress to Astro migration from start to finish: we move your content, map and redirect every URL, and keep your place in Google. No more plugins to update, no more hosting bill.
If moving to Astro isn't worth it for your site, we'll tell you.
Why move from WordPress to Astro
It is slow on mobile
On every visit, the server assembles the page from PHP, the theme, the plugins and the database. On a phone over 4G, visitors wait, and many leave before anything appears. An Astro site serves pages that are already built, so they load at once.
Why WordPress sites are slowIt needs constant watching
Core, theme and plugin updates arrive every week, and most WordPress security flaws come from plugins. Skip the updates and you leave holes open; apply them and something may break. A static Astro site has no plugins, no PHP and no database to attack.
It costs every month
Hosting, a premium theme, paid plugins, maintenance: the bill keeps running for a site that barely changes. After the migration, your Astro site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages for €0 a month.
Astro vs WordPress, comparedWhat we carry over during the migration
- Your pages, blog posts and their publication dates
- Your images, compressed and served in modern formats
- Your URLs, kept identical or mapped and 301-redirected one by one
- Your page titles and meta descriptions
- Your contact forms
- Your domain name and your professional email, untouched
Your current design can be kept and cleaned up, or replaced through the Custom design option. Every migrated site also ships with an XML sitemap and canonical tags.
The WordPress to Astro migration in 5 steps
- Audit
We list every URL that matters: Search Console export, XML sitemap and a full crawl of your WordPress site.
- Content export
Pages, posts, media, titles and meta descriptions are exported from WordPress and converted to clean Markdown.
- Rebuild
The site is rebuilt with Astro and scores 95+ on mobile Lighthouse, our guaranteed minimum.
- Redirect map
Every old URL is mapped to its new address, and each 301 redirect is tested before the switch.
- Launch and monitoring
The switch is a simple DNS change, with no downtime. We then check Search Console daily in week one, weekly in month one, and review at 60 days.
A real migration: Marrakech City Guide
- Back online17 July 2026
- Clicks from Google per day3 → ≈60
- Impressions per day≈1,400 → ≈4,100
Google Search Console, 30-day averages to 14 October 2026. Clicks compared with June 2026; impressions compared with October–November 2025, before the drop.
The travel guide run by Pierre-Marie Coupry: migrated from WordPress to Astro and rebuilt from the ground up, with a new site structure, a sharper editorial focus, every page rewritten and a new English version alongside the French one.
The site was coming out of a drop: a Google update in February 2026 had cut its impressions from 920 to 300 a day. We migrated it to Astro, redesigned its structure around a refocused strategy, rewrote all of its content and added an English version, all in one go, which most SEO specialists advise against.
It went back online on 17 July 2026. Impressions started climbing two days later, with no transitional dip: that is the migration’s job, a fast site and a switch with no lost URLs.
The growth that followed comes from all of it together. Three months on, the site gets nearly twenty times more clicks from Google than in June, and three times more impressions than before the drop. The new structure, the refocused and rewritten content, the English version (the site was French-only before) and the pages published since did much of that work.
Clicks from Google fall from about 18 a day in October 2025 to about 3 a day in May and June 2026, after a Google update in February. After the full relaunch on 17 July 2026 (migration to Astro, new site structure, rewritten content, new English version), they climb to about 60 a day by October 2026.

When we advise against migrating
Moving to Astro is not always the right call. We tell you so in these cases:
- A WooCommerce shop with advanced business logic
- More than 500 pages built on nested custom post types
- A team attached to the WordPress editor and not ready to change
- A site that is already fast (Lighthouse above 90) with costs that do not bother you
Questions about the migration
Will I lose my Google rankings when I migrate?
No, as long as your page addresses are kept or redirected one by one with 301s, which is exactly what we do. A slight fluctuation is possible during the first two weeks, while Google revisits the pages. We monitor your rankings in Search Console for 60 days after launch.
The technical detail of a migrationHow long does a WordPress to Astro migration take?
Usually 2 to 4 weeks from confirmed quote to launch, including a week of redirect testing before the switch. For a very large site, we give you the timeline during the first call.
Book a 15-min callDo you move my blog articles?
Yes, all of them: text, images, dates and categories. Afterwards you edit them and publish new ones in Decap CMS, without touching the code. Decap comes with the Site + blog package.
What Decap CMS doesDo I keep my domain name and my email?
Yes. Your domain simply points to the new site, and your professional email does not change: it depends on your email provider, not on WordPress. Both remain yours to pay, as they are today.
See what is includedCan you migrate a Wix or Webflow site to Astro?
Yes, the approach is the same: we retrieve the content, rebuild the site with Astro and redirect the old addresses. Along the way, you leave the platform's monthly subscription behind.
